By Irving/Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce on March 20, 2011:  One of Irving's newest start-up companies, Elemental Methods, just won a contract from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for an iPhone application and associated website for the purpose of collecting fisheries information from 20 for-hire or headboat captains located in Port Aransas, TX. Both the iPhone application and the website will collect specie specific information as required by the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission and will interface with Bluefin Data Solutions, LLC's data collection program.

This contract resulted from the Chamber's new government contract program with Strategic Partnerships Inc. of Austin, TX that provides participating businesses with revenue opportunities with all levels of government throughout the State of Texas.  The program rolled out in December and is free for Chamber members.  A registration form may be downloaded at www.irvingchamber.com.

Celebrating Elemental Method's success are:  Marvin Bond - the Chamber's Director of Membership Services, Michael Christopher - partner in Elemental Methods, Rose Cannaday - Mayor Pro-Tem City of Irving, Jo Ann Goin - Vice Chairwoman of Small Business Services for the Chamber, Chris Wallace -President/CEO of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber, and Carter Holston - former Chairman of the Chamber who was instrumental with negotiating the agreement with Strategic Partnerships.   Christopher also commented that in another bid under this program, he did not win that particular bid, but was invited by the chief technology officer of one the largest medical programs in the Metroplex to discuss future applications, a door that would not have been opened without his Chamber membership.
